On her way to grandma’s
In purple, orange and red,
She’ll head into the woods,
Fearful of what lies ahead.
Inside she’ll meet a wolf,
In a wood of bark and stone.
Will they make it out together,
Or freeze outside all alone?
Welcome to Part 1 of my four-part series, Rainbow High: Fractured Fairy Tales! Today's tale will be starring @Sunshine Ueltschy and @SamFliplineFan780 in my adaptation of Little Red Riding Hood! So without further ado, let’s begin the tale of:
LITTLE RED RADIANT HOOD AND THE BIG WHITE WOLF
Once upon a time, there was a little girl who lived in a cottage with her mother in a village near the edge of the woods.
The little girl was born on a beautiful sunny day, so her mother named her Sunshine after the weather as well as her beautiful golden hair.
Sunshine was a good little girl who went in and out of her mother’s cottage, running errands, and whenever she went out, she wore her special hooded cape.
When her mother first made her the cape, it was initially meant to be red, but after a confusing mess made with dye, the fabric ended up being painted in different shades of red, purple, and orange.
Her mother apologized to her daughter, but surprisingly, her daughter loved it since it reminded her of a gorgeous sunset.
She always wore her cape whenever she left the house, so much so that the villagers started calling her, “Little Red Radiant Hood”, since her looks and her outfit made her shine as bright as the glowing sun.
One day, Little Red Radiant Hood’s mother gave her a basket filled with cookies, a loaf of bread, a jar of strawberry jam and crackers.
“Your grandmother isn't feeling well. I received a letter from your grandfather saying she may have come down with something.” her mother told her. “I would like for you to visit her and bring these goodies I made to cheer her up. She should appreciate them.”
“Don’t worry, mother,” said Little Red Radiant Hood. “I’ll be sure that it gets done. I know the way to Grandma’s house. I'll make it there in no time.”
“Thank you, sweetheart. I knew I could count on you.” said her mother with a smile.
Little Red Radiant Hood put on her hood and grabbed the basket.
As she was heading out the door, her mother called out to her. “Remember our deal, sweetie!”
The deal was Little Red Radiant Hood’s favorite part about visiting Grandma and Grandpa.
The forest where they lived got very dark at night and it wasn't safe to walk from her grandmother's house all the way back to her mother's cottage when it was too dark.
So whenever something would happen that would interfere with Little Red Radiant Hood’s walk back home, she would be allowed to stay at her grandmother's house for the night until morning and then she'd walk back home.
“Don’t worry, mother.” called Little Red Radiant Hood back. “I’ll be back in time for dinner.”
And with that, Little Red Radiant Hood walked out of her mother’s front yard, opened and then closed the fence gate and followed the stone path in the woods, unaware of what waited inside…
----------------------------------------------------------------
And so Little Red Radiant Hood went on her merry way into the forest.
Skipping along on the dirt path she was so familiar with, she was excited to brighten her grandmother’s day with her basket full of gifts.
“Hello there, Little Red.”
Suddenly, Little Red Radiant Hood gasped, held on to her basket tightly and turned around.
There was a man carrying a large axe, all dressed in green. In fact, Little Red Radiant Hood knew exactly who this man was.
“… Oh, it’s only you, Mr. Huntsman.” Little Red Radiant Hood said with a sigh. “You startled me.”
“Terribly sorry, my dear.” said the huntsman with an apologetic smile. “I was about to start chopping wood when I noticed you all alone.”
“Well yes, I am alone but I know where I’m going and I'd better be off if I don't want to be late.” said Little Red Radiant Hood in a hurry.
Little Red Radiant Hood tried to walk around the huntsman, but the huntsman quickly sidestepped, blocking her path.
“Forgive my nosiness, Little Red, but may I ask where you are headed on this fine day with that basket?” asked the huntsman.
“I’ve been asked by my mother to deliver some food to Grandma. If you’ll excuse me, I must be on my way. All of this would taste best if it all was dropped off still warm.” said Little Red Radiant Hood.
“I understand. I won't keep you distracted any longer.” the huntsman said, stepping aside with a smile. “Please send your Grandma my warmest regards!”
“I will let her know you were thinking of her,” said Little Red Radiant Hood.
As Little Red Radiant Hood passed the huntsman with the flutter of her multi-colored cloak, the huntsman called out to her.
“Little Red!”
Little Red Radiant Hood stopped and glanced over her shoulder.
The huntsman stopped smiling and now had a serious expression on his face.
“Please remember to not talk to strangers and above all, be wary of wild animals!” said the huntsman.
“Of course,” Little Red Radiant Hood replied as she continued on her merry way. She skipped along again until she was out of the huntsman's sight.
----------------------------------------------------------------
Little Red Radiant Hood wandered deeper into the woods. It wasn’t long before she came across a patch of beautiful flowers as warm and orange as a sparkling sunset.
Little Red Radiant Hood was dazzled by their beauty and thought that Grandma wouldn't mind a little extra present. Grandma had a lot of glass vases and maybe giving her a bouquet of orange daylilies would make her feel even better.
Little Red Radiant Hood giggled as she set her basket down and crouched by the flower bed, admiring the plush petals of every flower.
Little Red Radiant Hood pushed the food aside in her wicker basket, making a small amount of space for the flowers. She took her time surveying the flowers, seeking out only the most pristine ones for her grandmother.
Pluck, pluck! One by one, she picked the best flowers and dropped them in her basket.
She was so concentrated on her task that she hadn’t noticed the sun had sunk into the horizon.
When she was finally finished, she let out a yawn, pulled herself up and stretched. She looked around and just now realized how dark it had become.
She was trying her best not to panic as she searched for the path. In the darkness, she could see nothing.
She was about to give up and cry when she remembered feeling something big and blocky in the back of her basket.
She breathed a sigh of relief as she reached inside and pulled out a flashlight. She forgot that her mother always packed her a flashlight just in case of emergencies.
She quickly turned it on and a beam of light quickly came out of it.
“That’s better.”
Little Red Radiant Hood treaded carefully, running a hand along each tree’s gnarled bark as she went by so she wouldn't lose her way.
Her eyes scanned the dark, alert for any danger. Then her foot came down on something soft, and a pained yipe sounded.
Little Red Radiant Hood’s spine stiffened. She slowly lowered her eyes to the ground, to where her shoe was. There, trapped under her boot, was a bushy mass of white fur, which trailed behind an oak tree.
An oak tree that was… whimpering?
“What…?” thought Little Red Radiant Hood, curiously.
Little Red Radiant Hood raised her flashlight (as well as her voice) as she removed her boot. “Wh-who’s there? A monster? Show yourself!”
There was a pause as the whimpering died down. The tail swooped back behind the tree as a boy who was about the same height as Little Red Radiant Hood emerged from his hiding place.
Despite the fluffy tail and ears, his face was certainly angry, gently stroking his injured tail.
“What do you think you're doing here?” said the boy with a scowl.
“I could honestly ask you the same question.” said Little Red Radiant Hood.
“I live here,” said the boy, growling. “Wolves like me need to find any comfortable spot we can for a nap until a human WAKES US UP BY STEPPING ON OUR TAILS!”
Little Red Radiant Hood felt a bit ashamed and a little embarrassed.
“Sorry about that,” she said sheepishly. “I’m a little lost,”
The white wolf-boy immediately softened his expression.
“Where are you going?” he asked.
“To my grandmother's house on the other side of this forest,” said Little Red Radiant Hood. “I should be safe there.”
The boy thought for a moment.
“I think I know where that is. I might've passed by there before.”
“You know Grandma and Grandpa?” asked Little Red Radiant Hood.
“I said might've,” the boy clarified. “My parents and I passed by a house with red flowers on its front lawn before.”
“That sounds just like grandmother's house!” thought Little Red Radiant Hood.
“Follow me,” said the boy. “I think I remember the directions.”
The two of them walked deeper into the woods with Little Red Radiant Hood’s flashlight providing a little dose of light.
“So…” said Little Red Radiant Hood, trying to break the uncomfortable silence.
“How do you know about my grandmother's house?”
“My parents were showing me around the forest when I was just a pup. We passed by that house and kept running along… until we ran into a monster.” said the boy.
“A monster?” said Little Red Radiant Hood.
The boy nodded. “My dad quickly hid me in the hollow trunk of an old tree and I heard some loud noises so I closed my eyes. When I opened them and crawled back out, they were gone and so was the monster.”
Little Red Radiant Hood was horrified and put her hand on his shoulder.
“I’m so sorry…” she said sadly.
The boy turned to Little Red.
“I…”
But before he could say anything, the two came across a house. But it wasn't Little Red’s grandmother's house.
It was a log cabin with a green roof surrounded by many trees.
“It must be the huntsman’s,” said Little Red to her new friend. “Maybe he can help…”
The two of them walked up to the front door and Little Red knocked but there was no reply.
The boy turned the doorknob and the two of them realized that the door was unlocked.
“We might as well go in since nobody is home,” said the boy.
“Are you sure it's safe?” asked Little Red, unsure.
“I believe so. My dad told me a story once of a girl with curly golden hair who entered a stranger's house and exited unharmed.” said the boy.
Little Red thought it over and agreed, although hesitantly.
The two of them entered quietly and looked around the cabin for anything they could borrow or use.
The white wolf-boy found two little things made from corks.
“What are these things?” the boy asked.
“Earplugs,” said Little Red, happy to explain. “All the better for the huntsman to not hear things with. The forest must be very noisy so he puts those two little things in his ears for him to concentrate.”
The white wolf-boy then found a little black case. Inside were a pair of glasses.
“What are these things?” the boy asked.
“Glasses,” said Little Red, happy to explain. “All the better for the huntsman to see things with,”
The white wolf-boy then came across a drawer and opened it, simply expecting to find clothes.
The boy opened the drawer and gasped, horrified.
Little Red came around to where the boy was and she also gasped.
Little Red, her hands shaking, picked up something black and another thing that was gray.
“These…these are…” stuttered Little Red, the words getting caught up in her throat.
“Wolf pelts,” said a deep voice. “All the better to decorate my cabin with…”
Little Red and the white wolf-boy quickly turned to see the huntsman standing in his doorway, a dark expression on his face with the moonlight on his back.
“Hello, my dear. Far from Grandma’s cottage, aren't you?”
----------------------------------------------------------------
Little Red and the white wolf-boy huddled together as the huntsman stepped inside.
The huntsman was aiming a bow and arrow at the two of them.
“Little Red, get away from him! Now!” shouted the huntsman.
“No, wait!” said Little Red, “You don't understand! He…”
“What are you waiting for? I said NOW!” shouted the huntsman as he grabbed Little Red’s arm and pulled her aside.
“Hey! What are you doing? Ow!” shrieked Little Red.
“Let her go!” shouted the white wolf-boy.
The huntsman threw Little Red behind him and aimed his arrow at the white wolf-boy.
“Back up against the wall, beast! And don't even think about trying to lay a scratch on Little Red!” shouted the huntsman.
“I said, let her GO!” shouted the white wolf-boy, a little louder.
“Don’t move, Little Red. Allow me to take care of this!” said the huntsman, ready to fire the arrow.
“But, wait…” said Little Red, unfortunately her words landed on deaf ears.
“I said… LET… HER… GO!” shouted the white wolf-boy, as loud as he possibly could have shouted.
Light coming through a nearby window coated the white wolf-boy as a single silver sphere could be seen high in the night sky.
The full moon.
The white wolf-boy’s eyes glowed a piercing shade of light blue and his body began to shift.
The white wolf-boy got on all fours and transformed into a huge white wolf.
With a mighty howl, the white wolf leapt onto the huntsman and Little Red barely had time to jump out of the way. At least not without accidentally landing on her basket.
The wolf and the huntsman tumbled and rolled around all across the forest floor with the wolf repeatedly attempting to scratch the huntsman. The wolf didn't know it but the huntsman grabbed a dagger in his pocket and raised it up to the wolf’s leg.
Until…
WHACK!
The huntsman’s head was slammed with a brownish-tan blur and he was knocked unconscious.
The wolf leaped back in surprise and saw Little Red, huffing and puffing out of breath.
She was holding something that had a broken handle and there was red stuff both in and on it.
In a flash of sparkles, the wolf turned back into a boy.
“Are you alright?” he asked worriedly.
“I could honestly ask you the same question.” said Little Red Radiant Hood, with a chuckle.
The boy looked down and saw that he was covered in mud, twigs and leaves.
He chuckled and then he laughed and then Little Red laughed and then they both laughed.
The huntsman groaned and slowly pulled himself up.
The boy quickly hid behind Little Red and made sure the huntsman couldn't see him.
“The wolf…” said the huntsman. “Wh-where is it?”
“You…you killed it.” lied Little Red, thinking on her feet. “But you should probably leave and never come back, just in case more wolves come after you for what you did.”
A panicked expression came upon the huntsman’s face and he ran away. Far from Little Red and out of sight.
The wolf sighed with relief as he came out from behind Little Red.
“That was close,” said the white wolf-boy.
“You’re telling me,” said Little Red.
“Hey, I never got to ask, what happened to your basket?” asked the white wolf-boy pointing.
Little Red suddenly realized what she did and looked over the content inside.
The cookies were crumbled, the crackers were cracked into pieces, the loaf of bread was smushed and the jar of strawberry jam was cracked open and strawberry jam was everywhere, especially all over the flowers.
“Oh no!” said Little Red. “It's all ruined! Now, I've got to go empty-handed.”
The white wolf-boy was sad for Little Red as the two walked back into the huntsman’s now abandoned house.
Little Red sat on the edge of the huntsman’s bed and cried while the white wolf-boy looked around the huntsman’s kitchen for anything he could use.
He saw lots of vegetables, a basket of eggs and meat hanging on the wall on a string.
Suddenly, an idea came to him and he smiled.
He brought a napkin on the counter to Little Red and told her to dab her eyes.
“What for?” she said, sobbing.
“I know how to fix your problem but I'm going to need your help.” said the white wolf-boy.
Little Red wiped the tears from her eyes and the two of them got to work.
----------------------------------------------------------------
It took a very long while but Little Red and the white wolf-boy made it to her grandmother's house.
When Little Red knocked on the door, her grandfather answered.
“Ah, right on time!” said Grandpa, grumpily. “If being hours late, counted as on time. Care to explain?”
“Sorry, Grandpa.” said Little Red. “It all got away from me somehow but I'm finally here and that's the most important part, wouldn't you agree?”
A small smile slowly grew on Grandpa’s face.
“It is nice to see you, sweetheart. But who is your friend over there?” asked Grandpa.
Little Red realized something and flushed with slight embarrassment.
“I forgot to ask you your name,” said Little Red, ashamed.
“It's fine,” said the white wolf-boy, chuckling. “After all we've been through, it's understandable why you would've.”
The white wolf-boy held his furry hand out and Little Red shook it.
“My name is Sam.” he said with a smile.
“Well, Red, Sam, come on in!” said Grandpa with a smile.
Red and Sam walked inside and Grandpa quickly smelled something.
“What are you carrying in your basket, sweetheart? It smells delicious. Actually, that basket looks different from the usual one you bring along!”
“Oh! My old one got… destroyed, so I had to borrow one from a friend.” explained Red. “Sam also helped me make something for you and for Grandma. I hope you like it!”
Lifting a corner of the checkered towel she had thrown on top of the dark brown wicker basket, she revealed a red food container.
Inside the red container, there was something with a crimped crust and a rich filling of minced broccoli, onions, and bacon bits baked into a golden, eggy base.
It was the most delicious quiche Grandpa had ever seen in his life!
Grandpa and Sam took the quiche out of the basket and got the plates and silverware ready while Red gave her Grandma a big hug.
The four of them sat down at the diner table and began to eat the large quiche as laughter filled the air.
As she was about to lift another forkful to her mouth, Red stopped to think about Sam’s duel with the huntsman.
Was it fully the huntsman’s fault that they got in that situation?
After all, he WAS only trying to save Red from what HE thought was danger…
But she still saved Sam from someone who tried to hurt him…
Maybe she could've done something more and the huntsman could be sitting at this table too?
Shaking the thoughts out of her head, she returned to her meal.
Maybe the huntsman would come back one day, maybe he wouldn't.
If he did, she could have a civil consideration with him and they could all be friends.
If he didn't, Sam could live in peace and find a new pack to run with. Maybe she could even get her mother to take him in!
The huntsman and Sam were both the heroes and the villains of her story and she couldn't think of who was right and who was wrong. Maybe she'd never figure it out…
But none of that mattered right now.
She was surrounded by family as well as her new friend enjoying a good, warm meal. That was all that mattered to her at that moment.
“Is there any more quiche left?” asked Sam, his tail wagging.
Red chuckled. “My, what a big appetite you have…”
“All the better to eat this delicious meal with!” said Sam with a toothy grin.
The four of them laughed and continued their meal while snow drifted softly beneath the starry night sky.
And they lived happily ever after…

Alright guys, here is my long overdue review of the closet playset and also Junior High: Rock Band Amaya Raine!! Can’t you just tell I love her so much??😋😋🫶🏻 Anywho, starting off with the closet playset. I really enjoy the aspect of it and how it has the unique rainbow arch going over it and all of the clothing pieces/accessories it comes with! This closet fun fact was actually featured in episode 13 of Season 6! It doesn’t look exactly like the playset with the shelving units on the side, but it was the closest shot I could find in the episode. But I do really love the features it has and I really enjoy it personally. Now moving on with the doll, aka the star of the show!!🌟🌟 This doll version of Amaya honestly has to be one of my favorites hands down, because of those tall rainbow boots alone!!!😍😍💕 Some minor issues with her however that I don’t like about her is the lack of articulation with her wrists once again and she has no articulation on the knees?!? Like what?? I think that’s a bit bizarre for that to be a thing with this doll, but it’s honestly whatever, I guess. What I DO like about the doll though is the makeup and the hair because wow wow wow!!🤩🤩🫶🏻 She’s just so stunning and really pretty honestly and they did not skip on her details! Overall, I give this playset a solid 8.5/10 just cause of the amount of details it has, especially with the different clothing options.
Anyways, moving on with a BONUS doll that I just received in the mail today and it’s Amaya from the Junior High: Rock Band series with The Prismatics!! Eeeeeeeee, I’ve been honestly wanting this doll for so long because of how amazing her outfit looks, so I was really excited when I finally got her today from Amazon. She is striking with that band top and skirt, and those shoes hello?!?!🙂↕️🙂↕️💕 That hair is giving too!! The white on one side and then the full on rainbow on the other side is crazyyyy! Really love it so much and her new face is so cute! The makeup is simple, but really ties with the outfit pretty well. I also really love her instrument that she comes with, which is a keyboard and you can even customize it with stickers which this set comes with. The stickers are really cute as well and they tie with the whole aesthetic completely!🥰🥰💖 I like the fact that she actually has knee articulation, but sadly still stuck with the no wrists. But anywho, her whole entire ensemble overall is so awesome and I want to definitely get the other three girls to complete the set, but it definitely won’t be until probably once I have enough money again to get them all since I’m quite poor at the moment, lol.🥲🥲🙏 But besides that, I give this Amaya a solid 10/10!!! What do you guys think about these dolls?? Will you consider buying them??🤔🤔❓
