Ainsley Slater is an all-around character introduced in 2020. She is a transfer student currently at Shadow High, formerly Rainbow High, and she focuses in Accessory Design with a second focus in Fashion Design.
Character Description
Ainsley came to Rainbow High for an Accessories focus with obsessive workmanship, flawless style and an annotated rule book. She quickly became best friends with fellow over-achievers Avery and Aidan, who appreciate her high energy and perfect ponytail. Their friendship became the stuff of legends as they support and inspire each other to be the best ‘A’ they can be. Back home in San Francisco, her parents both work as surgeons. They hold Ainsley to very high expectations, since she is following her passion in the arts, and they think she needs to be the best of the best. They always compare her to her older sister, Audrey, who's going into medicine and has it all together. Ainsley will do anything to make her family proud—but becoming a Prefect and adding on a second focus doesn't seem like it's enough. She might have to try something drastic.

Physical Appearance[]
Ainsley has fair skin and dark purple hair tied into a long high ponytail with two strands of hair at the sides. Her eyes are bright blue, and her makeup consists of neon rainbow eyeshadow and glossy pink lipstick.
Outfit[]
For Ainsley’s Shadow High outfit, she wears a black latex turtleneck top with a pleather iridescent moto jacket tube top with multiple silver zipper details and she wears a black denim skirt with white trim linings and a silver accent. For her footwear, she wears black leather boots wrapped with white straps and printed with the letters "RH" on both. She also have the skull cross bone necklace with a picture of the A’s inside.
Her Rainbow High outfit is black with gold details. She wears a top with gold buckles, gold safety pins, two buttons and a full sleeve on the left side. Her skirt is laced with gold details, including a gold chain belt with gold "RAINBOW" letters around it. She pairs the outfit with black combat boots with silver spiky details.
Personality
Similar to the A's, she comes off as a super snobby and rude person. Throughout the animated series, they just seem to act elite to other students though are genuinely not hostile to any person as far as what we’ve seen. As of "All About Aidan", she is shown as a kind supporting friend to Aidan when Avery, River and her chose Aidan to be the quarterback backup for the Rainbow High's football team when the main quarterback was injured.
It’s also possible that she’s a perfectionist, given she warned Poppy Rowan that her music for the Color Block Party needed to be ‘prefect perfect.’
Ainsley also tried acting bitter and mean to Rainbow High after announcing to her former school that she moved to Shadow High but looked regretful afterwards.
Etymology
Ainsley[]
Ainsley is a rather uncommon girls name that means "meadow" in Gaelic, with it also being associated with cleanliness and organization on an unrelated note.
Slater[]
Slater is an English surname related to the mineral of slate, a traditionally black material made up of quartz.

Reina "Glitch" Crowne[]
When Ainsley reveals that she is now going to Shadow High, she and Glitch hug - meaning that they could be friends or know each other in some way.
Avery Styles[]
Avery is shown from the very start to be Ainsley's best friend, with them initially not having much of any conflict. This all changed however when Ainsley added a double focus in fashion and began shutting out Avery, drawing a wedge between them. This grew much stronger until both girls were invited to a sleepover with The Super Secret Sleepover Society, where throughout the night their tensions grew to a breaking point. They then reveal they both feel hurt and make up, growing a stronger relationship. However, in Season 3, Ainsley gives subtle hints and keeps on complimenting Shadow High which Avery gets annoyed by this. When Ainsley says that she is now part of Shadow High, Avery starts to break down in tears over the betrayal and is hurt by Ainsley’s news. Then, in "Rainbow Vision Finale: Part 2" she and Aiden forgive her and gift her a locket showing that they are still friends and hoping she keeps them in their heart.
Aidan Russell[]
While not as in depth as her relationship with Avery, Ainsley is still close friends with Aidan and appreciates him as part of The A's, best seen by her helping him get his confidence back for football. He seems also hurt by Ainsley's betrayal. But in "Rainbow Vision Finale: Part 2", Aidan is ok with it and reminds her they’re still friends and gives her a locket.

Naomi and Veronica Storm[]
The Storm Twins threaten Ainsley like usual to everyone, they tried to force their way in to sabotage The Royal Three's performance by giving Glitch some flowers, but she and Avery stop them. When the De'Vious and the Storm Twins try to sabotage the Finals, her and Avery pull them out of backstage, when the Storm Twins try threaten her by saying "she's starting on the wrong foot", she threatens them back by saying she can get them expel by sending all the evidence in the suitcase to the Shadow High's Headmistress, feeling threatened and defeated they give her a dirty look and left.

The Super Secret Sleepover Society[]
Ainsley is shown to be friends with Brianna, Marisa, and Robin who had all invited her to their slumber party. It is also revealed that these girls set Ainsley and Avery up to be able to talk it out and apologize to each other due to their fight.

- October 2nd, 2020: Ainsley made her official animated debut in "When the GLAM Hits The Fan".
- July 30th, 2021: Ainsley's official focuses has been revealed in "BFF Blowup!", that being Accessory Design.
- November 26th, 2021: Ainsley's conflict with Avery is properly resolved, and she also has her first episode focusing on her, being "The Sleepover Society".
- January 19th, 2022: Ainsley's leaked doll listing confirms she's part of a fashion closet playset, revealing her being a new Shadow High student.
- May 27th, 2022: In "The Eclipse - Phase Two", she officially announces her transfer to Shadow High.
- June 1st, 2022: Ainsley’s doll and playset is officially released to purchase at major retailers.

- Her clothing style may be inspired by k-pop, as her outfit strongly resembles that of members of LOONA during their "So What" era.
- Ainsley can knock anyone out with her hair just by whipping it back and forth as mentioned in the Episode 1 of Kontent With Karma.
- She has an older sister named Audrey.
- Ainsley now attends Shadow High, the rival school to Rainbow High.
- Ainsley is one of the few characters with a multicolored palette, in her case being black, white, and iridescent tones.
- According to her prototype, she was originally a Rainbow High doll. This could mean that her transfer to Shadow High was last-minute, likely so Shadow High could have 8 designers on Project Rainbow.
- She is the first known student to change schools.
- As a result of changing schools, she is the only Shadow High doll/student so far with a normal skin tone.
