Friends are the key to happiness.

Jade Hunter is a all-around character introduced in 2020. She is a student at Rainbow High that focuses in Cosmetology, specifically Makeup.

Character Description

From first glance, Jade seems like the moody and misunderstood girl at Rainbow High, and she likes it that way. She can only be satisfied by being 110% true to herself, and that means never following trends or doing anything that might make her "fit in." Makeup is her favorite way to express herself, and she loves to shock everyone with dramatic looks that everyone has to admit look gor-geous.

She has one of the most daring fashion styles of anyone. While most girls at Rainbow High may tend toward skinny jeans, cute skirts and tailored jackets, she's all about looser cuts and dramatic streetwear silhouettes, all while being comfy and bold.

Looks

Physical Appearance[]

Jade is a fair skinned teenage girl with a medium build. She has wavy, hip-length apple green hair parted to the side and turquoise doe-eyes. This is directly inspired by shirts made by the brand Anti-Social Social Club. She also has a bright green puffer jacket, and a lime green beanie. Under it, she wears a loose-fitting white T-shirt with "Rainbow" written on it in a bright green, cursive font on top of "RH" in bold, black letters. Her shoes are white sneakers wrapped in lime, spiked chains.

When dressing more casually, Jade wears a baggy white t-shirt and black leggings. Her shirt has the word "RAINBOW" written on it in green graffiti font with the phrase "Rainbow High" under it in black text, along with the cities "Los Angeles," "Paris," "New York," and "London." She accessorizes with a clear strappy belt, a spiked wristband, silver bangles, and several chain necklaces. Her shoes are similar to the ones from her secondary outfit, but in black.

For her cheerleader outfit, she wears a long sleeved, white bolero hoodie covered in the word "RAINBOW" in stylized, black font. At the elbows, the design transition to black, green, and white chevron stripes. Under it, she wears a green crop top with a black band that repeats the word "RAINBOW" all around. She has a matching, asymmetrical skirt with a diagonal cut, a small slit over the left leg, and black leather trim. There's a black "RH" logo on the bottom right side of the skirt and the word "RAINBOW" in black text written diagonally across the skirt's right slit. Under the skirt, she wears knee-length fishnet leggings. Her hair is pulled back into a high ponytail, adorned with a black leather bow, and parted by four silver hairpins in the middle. As the only girl on the cheer squad to be wearing flats, her shoes are chunky, green athletic sneakers with black accents and bright blue laces. On her cheeks are two stripes of black face paint. Over the stripes are white text with a translucent green glitter outline. One cheek reads "GO TEAM" and the other "RAINBOW".

Jade's runway outfit contains of a black slip dress with silver detail above her shoulders going across her chest, she also has silver mesh going all around her dress with stars and lightning bolt charms. the second version of her dress is green lightning from her waist to the bottom of the floor. her footwear contains of black boots with silver detailing. and for her makeup and hairstyle she wears green eyeshadow with a darker shade going above, black lipstick, and thick black eyeliner. her hair is tied up into a straight ponytail with her bangs pulled up with black hair clips. She also wears silver detailing in her hair.

For Jade's first Winter Break outfit, Jade has a tight black and white long sleeve shirt that she wears under her apple green overalls that have tons of details and pockets and small "Sparkle" logos written on them. With this, she also has a puffy matching winter coat with a silver zipper, and tall black snow boots with clear neon green soles and light green laces. She accessorises with a white, apple green, and black knit hat with a large black pompom on top of it. She has her hair all straightened and worn down, being very long and nearly touching the ground. She also wears light green eyeshadow and eyeliner, shimmery foundation, and frosted nude lipstick.

For Jade’s second Winter Break outfit, she wears a white crop top that says "Rainbow" that's worn with a black and white fluffy jacket that also says "Rainbow" on the collar. With this, she has a high waist green and white plaid skirt with silver studs as well as black ice skates with white laces.

Her Junior High outfit consists of a black and white striped cropped tank top with light green boxers that spell "Sparkle" on the waistband. Worn over these are a pair of half light green half black flared pants that spell "Rainbow", and she also has light green and white sneakers with black and light green sewn socks. Her hair is much shorter and the same apple green color, being tied up into straight pigtails with black leather scrunchies. Her makeup is very subtle with beige eyeshadow, pink blush, and nude lipstick. With all of this, she also has a beige bandage worn across her nose.

For her Rainbow World outfit, Jade wears a mesh-like, see-through silver top with a geometric pattern, worn over a white undershirt featuring a green logo. She also wears a vibrant green skirt with a textured look, possibly with a belt or pocket detailing. Her shoes are a bright green platform sneakers with "BOW" written on them in bold letters, paired with thick transparent soles that are made to fill liquid rainbow.

Personality

Jade is a tomboy who isn't at all concerned with following trends or fitting in. She always speaks her mind, even if it means she occasionally comes off as abrasive or impatient. More than anything, though, Jade loves to defy expectations. Her specialty at Rainbow High is makeup, but rather than limiting herself to beauty or glamour, she prefers dramatic, theatrical looks that leave people equal parts shock and impressed. Using her makeup skills, she chose to scare two of her new roommates, Violet and Ruby, in lieu of a typical greeting.

Jade had proven herself to be a levelheaded and reasonable person, as seen when she attempted to talk Bella out of sacrificing her future at Rainbow High for a potential internship. Despite her rough exterior, Jade also has a sensitive side- especially when it comes to her work. She's very protective of her work and can take critiques personally. She expresses her emotions openly and can't hide them when she's feeling hurt or frustrated. Fortunately, she doesn't take her frustrations out on her friends. Rather, she saves her anger for those she feels deserve it. Jade also has a somewhat guarded exterior - it seems to take a lot to gain her trust. Even though Violet and Ruby are seeing a new character.

Relationships

Pet[]

Sweetpea[]

As Jade is Sweetpea's owner, the two have a close bond, though it did not start out close. After first meeting Sweetpea would be very mischievous towards Jade, with this annoying Jade. After going to beach with her friends however, Jade realizes she's been shutting Sweetpea out and listens, with this bonding the two of them closer than ever before.

Family[]

Emerald Hunter[]

Emerald is Jade's younger sister. Although not much is shown, they seem to have a good relationship as they performed the talent show together.

Friends[]

Ruby Anderson[]

They are roommates and seem to be very close with each other. They were both the most upset when Bella got expelled and the video of her went viral. They also were the most mad at Amaya when they first met her due to her being the "replacement" of Bella.

Poppy Rowan[]

While not initially together very often, Poppy and Jade are good friends that often hang out together and listen to music.

Sunny Madison[]

Despite having very different energy levels and interests, Jade and Sunny tend to get along together rather well, though they are not often alone together.

Skyler Bradshaw[]

While being close and stable friends, Skyler and Jade do not interact very much, but they show a great deal of respect for each other's talents and contributions.

Violet Willow[]

Her and Jade have had a complicated relationship, since Jade and Violet always seem to be on opposing ends of arguments, especially when Bella is involved. They seem to make up afterwards so it can be assumed they are on more friendlier terms.

Bella Parker[]

Out of all the girls, Bella and Jade had the strongest and closest connection by far. Starting out as just roommates, they quickly grew a strong friendship, playing off of each other very well. Their friendship was tested however when Bella wanted to submit an entry for a contest, risking getting expelled from Rainbow High and loosing the greatest opportunity of her life. This friendship was however town apart after Bella became expelled for real, breaking Jade's heart. In Bella's absence Jade became very bitter and defensive of her, taking it out on her friends. This all changed however when she was finally reunited with Bella, reinvigorating their close bond.

Amaya Raine[]

Starting out Jade had the biggest grudge towards Amaya out of everyone, initially only seeing her as Bella's replacement. Even with her best efforts Jade remained rather bitter towards Amaya, being passive aggressive and dismissive of her ideas and plans for their shared runway project. This did eventually change however, as after Amaya revealed the Color Change Chamber Jade realized that Amaya is rather talented and is her own person, allowing them to see each other as equals and becoming friends.

River Kendall[]

Jade co-starred with River as his romantic interest in Holly and Laurel's play “A Winter Tale of Two Super Beautiful Enchantresses”. She also thought he was cute when she first saw him in "Bring On Rainbow Cheer".

Jett Dawson[]

They worked together for the Radiant Week project. Jett thought Jade's makeup skills were out of the world and so she "recruited" her for her group.

Robin Sterling[]

While they weren't really seen together often, Jade did Robin's makeup for the Radiant Week project so it is assumed they know each other or are friends.

Heather Grayson[]

The two are shown to get along well, as they both seem to enjoy being picked for Project Rainbow’s final hair and makeup routine.

Enemies[]

Laurel and Holly De'Vious[]

Like some of the other girls, Jade isn't too fond of their overall bossiness and personality and was upset when they were rude to Amaya. Jade also disagrees with them about many topics like if Shadow High should be host for Rainbow Vision.

Colin[]

Jade is shown to be bitter and angry towards Colin, due to him cheating on some of her best friends Skyler and Ruby.

Georgia Bloom[]

Jade and Georgia seem to be friends. While Jade got Georgia's role in the play, they have been seen talking in multiple episodes and music videos.
