Kim Nguyen is an all-around character introduced in 2023. She is a student at Rainbow High that focuses in Fashion Design with a second focus in Styling.
Character Description
Growing up in the cities of Los Angeles, City of Angels, Kim was always surrounded by unique people and different cultures that inspired her to always be asking questions. Even from a young age, Kim would always ask "why"? She would ask so many questions about clothes and fabrics, it would cause people to really think about their own work and, in a lot of cases, go back and make it even better. Kim's own style is unique and cool, and while she loves designing clothes, she loves styling even more.

Physical Appearance[]
Kim has fair skin with a medium build, narrow, light blue eyes and bluish arched eyebrows. She has long, straight, black hair with navy blue highlighted streaks, the front section cut into blunt thick bangs. For makeup, she wears silver and navy blue eyeshadow, with dramatic navy blue eyeliner. Her nails are long, sharp, and painted with shiny navy blue nail polish.
Outfits[]
She wears a simple sleeveless denim navy blue dress with lines of silver studs down on it. Over this, she tops her shoulders with a navy blue denim jacket combined with black leather fabric and a silver zipper. For her footwear, she has navy blue heeled chunky sandals with silver accents on each center. Her only accessory is a pair of ornate silver earrings decorated with blue gemstones.
Personality
Kim seems to be very curious, asking many questions that cause people to go back and make their work better. She loves fashion design, but she loves styling even more.
However, Kim is also shown to have a prideful side. She can get overconfident in her work when she gets ideas. While not selfish in any way, her overconfidence can cause her to forget to work in groups with other members.
She likes to be bold in her designs and take risks, but this, combined with her overconfidence, can make her rather oblivious to the glaring problems and oddities that are present in her design, to the point that she is unable to process that everyone else around her doesn’t like something she did as much as she does.

Nguyen[]
Nguyen is a popular Vietnamese surname, with it having earlier origins in China. Nearly forty percent of Vietnamese people have this surname today.

- January 26th, 2023: All of the Rainbow High Series 5 characters including Kim’s stock photos, are leaked on various websites.
- March 3rd, 2023: Kim's animation was seen in a commercial.
Trivia
- Kim Nguyen was introduced in 2023, which is the year of the Cat in Vietnam. According to Vietnamese horoscope, and lunar calendar, people who were born in this year bears the elemental sign of "Kim" aka "Gold," more specifically referred to be "Kim Bach Kim" which means "a combination of silver and gold." This can be the origin of Kim Nguyen's name.
- Kim is the first canonically Vietnamese Rainbow High character.
- Her jacket seems to be loosely inspired by Alexander McQueen's jacket.
- Her shoes share the similar Diesel-inspired fonts that Michelle's outfit has.
