Krystal Bailey is an all-around character introduced in 2020. She is a student at Rainbow High that focuses in Journalism.
Character Description
Krystal is the editor-in-chief for the school magazine, The Rainbow High Scene. Her opinion is EV-RY-THING. She's all about chasing the latest scoop and getting to the real deets of what's going on at the school. Krystal began writing at just 4 years old, and went on to break every story in her hometown before finding her passion in writing about the arts. She took out every book in the library on visual and performing arts and interviewed every fashion designer, playwright, street artist and animator in town.
Looks
Physical Appearance[]
Krystal is a teenage girl with a medium build and a dark skin tone. She has knee-length, wavy, indigo hair with subtle highlights of varying shades of blue, that is parted down the middle, and blue eyes. Her makeup consists of a light ombre blue cut crease buffed out with indigo eyeshadow, and pink lipstick. Her preferred style is described as being "casual-chic" and fresh.
Her Junior High doll features her with textured curly hair, implying that her natural hair is curly.
Outfits[]
Krystal mainly wears an iridescent indigo bunny-ear bow tied to a silver chain headband. She has an indigo denim jacket with the word "SPARKLE" printed on it and some ribbons laced around the sleeves. Underneath is a shimmery iridescent tee and an electric indigo denim skirt with zippers. She has black and indigo heels with silver watches as chain straps, the letter "R" on one heel and "H" on the other, and indigo tassels.
Krystal's second outfit consists of an indigo leather moto jacket with glittery silver stars; under it is a white crop top with a V-neckline. She has black fishnet stockings under a pair of indigo jeans with pockets, square-shaped holes at the knees, and zippers below the holes. Her shoes are indigo platform heels with black soles and silver watch straps.
In Junior High, Krystal wears an oversized indigo jacket with black and silver graffiti details. She also wears an indigo skirt with matching boots. Her hair is styled into two Afro puffs.
Personality
Krystal is a creative and hardworking person, being a writer and journalist since she was a kid. She is very motivated by her work and is happy to hear from others, giving everyone their chance to speak and be heard. Spending her time working on The SCENE, she uses it to always find out the most information possible and is always looking out for more hot gossip.

Trivia
- She originally had tan skin similar to Skyler Bradshaw, but it was changed into a darker skin tone.
- On the box art originally she still had her tan skin, though it was updated after the release of Bella Parker to have her dark skin. This is the first occurrence of box art of a character changing and two different versions existing at once.
- Krystal's name was originally Jett Dawson. It was changed after her doll boxes were already made, so right now, on all of her boxes, the "Krystal Bailey" label is just a sticker over the original Jett Dawson marking.
- This name was reused for the new character Jett Dawson.
- Her full name is Krystal William Bailey Bullard, as mentioned in a post on Rainbow High's Facebook page.
- Her magazine The Scene may be a reference to Mattel’s now discontinued line My Scene. The magazine rivals the popularity of students like Avery Styles.
- She was featured in a teaser image for season 2 of Rainbow High (Animated Series), replacing Amaya Raine.
- Her second outfit's jacket appears to be inspired by the Louis Vuitton monogram printed biker jacket.
