Laurel De'Vious is an all-around character introduced in 2021. She is a student at Rainbow High that focuses in Performing Arts.
Character Description
Whenever anything major happens big gossip, trouble. drama, technical issues... or even expulsions, you'll find that Laurel and her twin sister Holly De'Vious aren't very far away. Hailing from the Upper East Side of Manhattan, these girls are two sides of the same devious coin-one fiery, one cold as ice. They're double the style, double the drama and always double the hilarity. The twins aspire to be classically trained actors in all major genres: comedy, musical, improv, experimental.. but their favorite genre is drama.

Physical Appearance[]
Laurel has a tall and thin teenage body type with pale ivory skin, almond-shaped light brown eyes with long eyelashes, arched light brown eyebrows, sparkly warm-toned eyeshadow, thick winged eyeliner, and scarlet red lipstick. Her hair is partially tied up in a high curled ponytail and resembles fire in color, having bright streaks of red, orange, and yellow.
Outfits[]
Her main outfit consists of a white long-sleeved crop dress with bow-shaped sleeves. Printed in a metallic gradient of warm-toned colors are the words "Rainbow", "Magic", and "Sparkle". She accessorizes with large "R" gold statement earrings paired with a white choker and gold "R" pendant on it. Her footwear is white strappy sandals with gradient high heel platforms of her theme colors. She brings a mini bag that matches with the one her sister has; Laurel's is colored scarlet with gold details.
Personality
Just like her sister, Laurel is shown to be very sassy, demanding, and confrontational. As long as her and Holly are in the spotlight, she doesn't care for anything or anyone else. She is also shown to be a big drama queen, not putting up with anyone else's needs or desires. When she plays off her sister, she's most often the aggressor, while Holly tends to take a back seat and be more cunning and clever. Nonetheless, she genuinely loves her school and cares about its wellbeing. She also can soften up when impressed.

Holly De'Vious[]
Holly is Laurel's twin sister, and the two of them are completely inseparable. Despite both having a very harsh and demanding personality, they get along together very well and work as a single unit, using both of their manipulation talents to get whatever they want. They also support each other in their many standoffs and rivalries, never having these thoughts towards each other.
Friends[]
The Assistant[]
The Assistant is perhaps Laurel's only friend other than her sister, even though she still belittles and bosses him around every chance she gets, though she shows him some respect occasionally. Despite her constant mistreatment, he is still loyal to her, even singing a special song dedicated to her and Holly for Rainbow Vision.
Jett Dawson[]
The twins are shown to have great respect for Jett, even being the ones to personally introduce her back to the school, and to the audience.
Romance[]
River Kendall[]
While River has not shown any attraction to her, Laurel has shown to have a crush on him, being best seen during his audition for their play.
Enemies[]
Amaya Raine[]
Both Laurel and her twin have a strong distaste and disrespect for Amaya, being best shown during Amaya's audition for their play. During this they accuse Amaya of being jealous of Georgia, claiming she doesn't want River to kiss her. Laurel later accuses Amaya of sabotaging the play.
Naomi and Veronica Storm[]
Because the De'Vious and Storm twins are from rival schools, they have always competed with each other. They have competed in TwinCon and during Rainbow Vision. Laurel always gets mad whenever the Storm twins say something about her.
Robin Sterling[]
As her and Robin are both the same focus, things can get a little competitive. Robin got a part as Dorothy instead of the twins who offered to split the role. The twins were obviously jealous as they dyed her slippers green on the day of the show. In addition, Holly and Laurel replaced Toto, the dog, with a cat.
Reina Crowne[]
She and Holly have a deep dislike for Glitch as they wanted to be the Rainbow Vision hosts, but Glitch instead got the position.
Timeline
- June 11th 2021: Laurel makes her animated series debut in the episode "The Final Runway Show".
- June 16th, 2021: She is officially released at all retailers.
- June 20th 2021: Holly and Laurel's character bios appear on the official website.
- July 16th, 2021: She gets her first speaking lines in the episode, "Welcome Back, Bella!".
- June 28th, 2023: She makes her release in Rainbow Junior High Special Edition.
Trivia
- Laurel and Holly were the first dolls to be released with a different face mold.
- Laurel is one of the few characters with a multicolored palette, in her case being warm colors.
- On their box, where the other dolls have a "1", "2" or even a "Heart" on their nametag, the twins' box bears a Gemini sign, presumably hinting they are Gemini.
- Just like the other Special Edition dolls, they have a different symbol.
- Rainbow High released a new symbol for them, which is a ribbon flag that says "RH" and "Laurel and Holly - Performing Arts Focus".
- Laurel and Holly's name might reference popular neighborhoods in Los Angeles, California, named Laurel Canyon and Hollywood Hills.
- Her hair makes a rainbow when placed next to her twin Holly.
