Out of the Shadows is fortieth episode released for the animated series Rainbow High, and the seventh episode of Season 3.

Plot
Ainsley returns to her spot next to Avery and Aidan who are mad at her for moving to Shadow High. On stage, Laurel and Holly are talking with Rainbow Dream, who were last years winners, on why they should be the hosts of Rainbow Vision. Rainbow Dream seems to want to interact with other schools, so the twins switch to another tactic, giving the audience and all participants discounts at the Sparkle Sisters Ski Lodge. However, the members don't really care less and soon it's time for them to introduce the next contestant. They walk backstage and are greeted by Naomi and Veronica Storm, who criticize them. Laurel gets mad while Holly plays it cool, walking away.
Meanwhile, all of the audience members are captivated on stage by the entrance of Tiara from The Royal Three, Harley from Neon Shadow, and Ayesha from The Rainbow Divas. The episode cuts back to the A's who are still fighting, then goes back to the trio. They quickly perform a routine and strike an ending pose. Then, from Pacific Coast High, Phaedra and Simone come onstage. They present that they will bring drama if they are voted as hosts.
Again, Avery and Aidan are scolding Ainsley about keeping the secret. The three walk out and the camera goes back onstage where Glitch who announces that if she is host, she will get the audience to know the participants better than before. After all, Rainbow Vision is about the music. Members of the audience decide within themselves who should be the host. Avery has walked backstage which isn't allowed. But, since Ainsley is with them, the Storm twins allow them to stay. Avery gets mad at this because the feels that Ainsley is already one of "them" and storms off with Aidan following. Ainsley settles with sitting next to Ash and Nicole. Finally, Violet announces that Glitch will be the next host.

- In some scenes, the main girls are shown at the top-left of Ainsley, while in some other shots they are shown at her top-right.
- When the A's get out of the auditorium, the door behind them is at first closed, but is opened a few shots later.
