Rainbow Vision Rifts "Audition Begins" is the forty-first episode released for the animated series Rainbow High, and the eighth episode of Season 3.

There are a BUNCH of new updates! For one thing, Pacific Coast High and Shadow High have decided to co-host along with Violet! 😮 On top of that, the Rainbow Vision auditions are finally happening! 🎶 There are A LOT of tough acts this year. 😰 Who’s going to make it to the next round for Rainbow High, Shadow High and all the other schools participating?
Plot
Following the conclusion of the Rainbow Vision host-off, the Rainbow Vision TV crew get into conflict with other students from Pacific Coast High and Shadow High like Phaedra, Simone, Heather, and Ash, who believing they need other schools represented on TV than just Rainbow High. Mila is also revealed to be a behind-the-scenes photographer for Rainbow Vision TV.
River gets kicked out of the TV crew because he decided to audition for Rainbow Vision with his band. He begins feeling pressured and angry. Amaya tries to comfort him, but River walks out, saying that he has to practice with his band.
Meanwhile, Phaedra replaces River as co-host of Rainbow Vision TV with Violet. During the first round of Rainbow Vision auditions, Ms. Wright, Ramona Barnes, and Paris Hilton judge contestants to see who will move on and who will not. To move on, you need three spotlights. The Assistant - the first person auditioning - only received one spotlight from Paris Hilton. Natasha successfully moves on with the judges revealing all three spotlights. Delilah only got spotlights from Ms. Wright and Ramona Barnes. Additionally, River and his band also gets disqualified with zero spotlights, making River doubt himself even more for losing both his role as co-host and the opportunity to participate in Rainbow Vision. Glitch comes on stage and says a few words wrapping up. In River's anger he takes it out on Amaya and breaks up with her, leaving Amaya in pure shock.

- This is the first episode where Emerald McNabb has speaking lines.
- River's band is revealed in this episode, though it doesn't have a name. River, Colin, and Emerald’s band is not called “Those Darn Dolls", even though this was thought to be their Band's name. But, was debunked later in the series.
- In this episode, River and Amaya break up.
Errors[]
- There are two animation errors regarding Robin’s outfit:
- When meeting Mila, her jacket glitches and goes through her shirt.
- When Simone pushes River out of the Rainbow Vision TV locals, she is seen in her second outfit despite wearing her alternative outfit for the rest of the episode.
- The Rainbow Vision locals are shown to take place in Room 101, despite this being consistently shown as a normal classroom. However, it is likely it was intentional as a possible setting for the locals before being changed.
