River Kendall is an all-around character introduced in 2020. He is a student at Rainbow High that focuses in Performing Arts.
Character Description
He is cool and confident, but with a sensitive side. He's one of those guys in high school everyone has a crush on. River's big dream is to star on the screen as a dramatic movie actor. He's a performance major at Rainbow High and whether he's acting or creating music, he always performs from the heart, but River's pretty humble about the whole thing and focused on doing his best in school and improving his craft every single day.

Physical Appearance
River is a teenage boy with a strong build. He has light tan skin, silvery-blue almond eyes, thick dark brown eyebrows, short aqua hair shaved on the sides and back, and pale brown lips.
Outfits
River's signature outfit consists of a cerulean varsity jacket with black sleeves, a cyan hoodie with a "Sparkle" logo printed on it, a pale blue denim jacket wrapped around his waist, ripped denim jeans, a pair of cyan, white and black sneakers that say "Dare to Dream" on them with an orange price tag attached to it, and a black cap with printed teal currency signs that he often wears backward.
River's second outfit consists of a white tee with the word "RAINBOW" and "PARIS" underlined with a rainbow line, a black hoodie with aqua and gold stripes and two golden "R"s, a pair of cyan shorts, white socks with the word "rainbow" printed on one side, and black sneakers with cyan laces and "RH" and "RAINBOW" on the sides.
Personality
Growing up with a single mom and an older sister who taught him how to be a good person, River is really down to earth and a total sweetheart. He's also very caring and protective of his friends, when Laurel accused Amaya of sabotaging Georgia's voice in the episode "Rainbow High on Ice" he protects her behind his back.

Friends
Sheryl Meyer
River seems to be friends with Sheryl Meyer, as they were shown happily dancing together at the Color Block Party.
Aidan Russell
They are shown to be close as they were seen talking in the halls by their lockers.
Georgia Bloom
After working with Georgia for the play, they are shown to be close and even decided to work on as a duo for Radiant Week.
Emerald McNabb
The two are both part of a band together and they auditioned for Rainbow Vision but, they got zero spotlights.
Romance
Amaya Raine
River and Amaya are confirmed to be dating. In the animated series, he first approached her after he judged the cheer dance at "Bring On Rainbow Cheer". In the episode "Amaya's Time", they just asked each other out after many awkward failed attempts with the help of the main girls. Amaya happily agreed. In "Rainbow Vision Rifts "Audition Begins"", however, River felt like he needed a break from them and broke up with her. He later tries to talk to her, but she just walks away. As of right now, there relationship is currently over. However in "…Now On with the Show!" River was looking for Amaya, after they found each other and hugged on the stairs relieved that each other we're okay, then they stopped and give each other a smile, showing that they may be on good terms.

Colin
River seems to be good friends with Colin though it's possible they may have stopped being friends off-screen as in "Amaya's Discovery", Colin can be seen being hit on the back of the head with a football which caused many people to believe that River threw it at him on purpose; since in "Will River Spill the Tea On His Date With Amaya?" shows a picture of that scene with all the pictures of River, but they are in a band together and they seemed to get along so it is assumed they are friends again.

Jade Hunter
Although they are not seen to be close, Jade worked as Georgia's replacement for the play after Georgia got laryngitis and the two worked quite well together.

- Mid-July 2020: An image of his doll was leaked.
- November 27th, 2020: River makes his animated series debut in Double Date Disaster.
- November 30th, 2020: Stock photos of his doll are revealed.
- December 7th, 2020: His doll was showcased on the Ellen Show.
- December 8th, 2020: His doll is officially released being seen in Target.
- December 11th, 2020: River makes his full animated debut in "Gurlfriend Take Over".
- February 5th, 2021: River has his first voice lines in "Bring On Rainbow Cheer".
- July 29th, 2022: His head mold for his Rainbow Junior High Series 2 doll is leaked.

Trivia
- The artwork depicts him having the number 22 on one of his shoulder sleeves despite his doll not having that number on his jacket.
- This led a lot of people to think that he was a redesigned Colin doll, since the Cheerleader Squad Skyler doll had that number on her shirt; this was obviously debunked later.
- He is the first male doll to be released.
- The "Dare to Dream" on his shoes might be a reference to Josephine Baker's song "Afraid To Dream".
- His surname "Kendall" may also be a play on "Ken Doll", Ken being the boyfriend of Barbie and a nod to him being the first male doll to be released.
- His original quote "You don't have to be perfect to be amazing" was change to "That's so hype!" on the The Official Rainbow High Yearbook for unknown reasons.
- He was the first character to use the Classic Masculine Head Sculpt for a doll.
- River grew up with a single mom and an older sister who taught him how to be a good person.
- River's favorite food is hard shell tacos.
- When he was younger, River starred in a soap opera called "Lost at Sea", as well as a Broadway musical called "Cloudy Clementine".[2]
