The Semi-Finals: Part 1 is the sixty-first episode released for the animated series Rainbow High, and the 10th episode of Season 4.

We are down to the final four designers of Project Rainbow! Ainsley, Avery, Shanelle, and Skyler must design a perfect outfit for the prom dance. It should include all things shimmer and shine and MUST be made for dancing the night away with your besties. With so many twists and turns, will these designers be able to finish before it’s time to walk the runway?
Summary
This week on Project Rainbow, the final four contestants (consisting of Skyler, Avery, Ainsley, and Shanelle) enter the semi-finals. Maria tasks each team to design prom dresses with the theme of shimmer and shine. In a twist, the teams will design for the opposite schools instead. Blu Brooks will model a Rainbow High dress and Pinkly Paige will model a Shadow High dress. Maria also introduces the prom committee (consisting of Ruby, Violet, Amaya, Heather, Nicole, and Natasha), who will help advise the contestants on what to design.
During the brainstorming session, the Rainbow High prom committee advises Ainsley and Shanelle to make an outfit that is both uniquely different and capable of dancing in. Ainsley prefers the idea of dress pants while Shanelle prefers a traditional gown. Meanwhile, the Shadow High prom committee advises Skyler and Avery to create a dress with the perfect color palette. The pair settle on creating a pink dress with an iridescent ombré effect.
Skyler and Avery proceed to dye a sheet of fabric carefully. They get carried away talking, losing track of time and accidentally end up dyeing the entire sheet a dark pink color. On the other hand, Ainsley and Shanelle couldn’t decide on one design and create an outfit that is half-dress and half-pants. At the mid-field check in, Maria and the prom committee dislike Team Shadow High’s undecided outfit and reminds them to pick one direction, but Shanelle and Ainsley still can’t agree. Next, they evaluate Team Rainbow High and notice that their design did not live up to their idea of an ombré dress. Skyler admits her fault for accidentally ruining the fabric and runs out of the workshop to do something, leaving everyone shocked. Has Skyler quit Project Rainbow?
